Brembo and the 2030 Agenda
On 25 September 2015, New York played host to the “Sustainable Development Summit” where the government leaders of 193 UN-member countries gathered for the main purpose of developing and drafting a sustainable development programme. This document sets 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be fulfilled by 2030.
“Common goals” means that they concern all countries and every individual: “nobody is excluded, and no one can be left behind along the way that leads towards a more sustainable world.”
The call for a collective commitment is aimed at fostering an active role on the part of businesses in helping face and address such sustainable development goals.
Brembo took on the challenge and — aware of its role as a global innovator — chose to sign up to the 2030 Agenda and to start promoting the culture of sustainability and the meaning of SDGs.
Brembo has started a process aimed at furthering the understanding, awareness and dissemination of SDGs, and at assessing the ways in which the company can contribute to help achieve them.
Through its “We support SDGs” project, Brembo calls on its People and all its stakeholders to learn about, support and promote sustainable thinking: each month a different goal will be explained in a dedicated fact sheet distributed across all the Group’s companies, and then published in this section of the website.
Each fact sheet analyses the meaning of a specific SDG and offers some ideas about things that each person can do in their daily life to contribute towards its achievement, by “Thinking responsibly. Acting Concretely.”
