Workers in the Value Chain

Workers in Brembo's value chain are divided into those:

  • in the upstream phases > involved in the production of direct and indirect materials (e.g. raw materials, components, utilities, tools, packaging) and services (e.g. painting, treatments, maintenance, logistics);
  • in the downstream phases >include mainly automotive manufacturers, downstream logistics services, recovery and disposal activities and employees of Brembo's joint venture, which it’s a strategic supplier.

To manage negative impacts and risks and advancing positive impacts, Brembo has set two measurable, outcome-oriented and time-bound targets:

  1. expanding the scope of suppliers' on-site ESG assessment and monitoring to cover 80% of purchasing spent on direct relevant suppliers by 2026 (relative target whose unit of measurement is the percentage of spend coverage – expenditure towards audited suppliers / total spend on direct relevant suppliers. The base year for measuring progress is 2020, during which the baseline value indicated that 70% of spend on direct relevant suppliers were assessed through on-site ESG evaluations. "Direct relevant suppliers" are those essential to Brembo's core operations and sustainability objectives, i.e. those with 80% of procurement spend);
  2. ensuring that the Local for Local Index, i.e. local procurement, remains above 90% until 2030 (the base year for measuring progress is 2020, during which the baseline value was 87%).
