Six decades after its founding as a manufacturer of brake cables for bicycles and motorcycles, the Barcelona-based company is going back to where it all began—now backed by the technology and expertise of a global benchmark in high-precision hydraulics.

The official return was marked by the presentation of the Specialized Gravity team at the Mugello circuit in Italy, where the new range of bicycle brakes developed by Brembo was unveiled. In this context, J.JUAN introduced its innovative hydraulic hose solution developed for the Specialized Gravity bicycle.

J.JUAN was founded in 1965 as a manufacturer of brake cables for bicycles and motorcycles. With the rise of disc brakes in the 1990s, the company took a decisive step forward by specializing in braided hydraulic hose manufacturing—a segment in which it is now a global leader. In 2024, over 1.4 million motorcycles—primarily high-end models—left the factory equipped with J.JUAN hydraulic systems, and its two plants in Barcelona produced more than seven million meters of hydraulic hose in just one year.

With this new launch, J.JUAN opens a new market line, in collaboration with Brembo. The new solution for Specialized Gravity upholds the brand’s signature standards of quality and performance, with top-tier technical specifications: 5 mm diameter, tensionable aluminum braid, resistance up to 700 bar of pressure, and the “Ultra Low Expansion” system that ensures consistent brake feel—even after hundreds of kilometers of intense use.

Thanks to these features, the company is internationally recognized for preventing brake fading under high-demand conditions, delivering maximum reliability in any environment.
With this move, J.JUAN reaffirms its commitment to innovation, safety, and braking excellence—now also on two wheels without an engine.
