Brembo, "Braking Inspiration Partner" of MotoGP and supplier of all 22 riders of the premier class, renews its commitment with a new racing caliper that is presented at EICMA 2024 in Milan, and which MotoGP riders will be able to use starting from the 2025 season.
Born from experience and passion for competition, the new caliper represents a major leap in braking technology. Thanks to a carefully studied design and the highest quality materials, this component is able to offer unprecedented performances, guaranteeing riders maximum safety and control in all conditions.
An oversized pad, capable of withstanding extremely high temperatures, ensures constant and powerful braking even in the most critical situations. The increased braking area, combined with optimized contact pressure, allows for greater braking efficiency, permitting riders to manage the bike with extreme precision.
The increased exchange surface, on the other hand, promotes rapid heat disposal, improving pad wear and ensuring consistent performance over time.
The eleven MotoGP teams, therefore, will have the possibility to choose whether to continue using the GP4 caliper, present in the top category since 2020, or adopt the new caliper available starting from the 2025 season, based on the specific needs and preferences of each rider.
Brembo reminds that, currently, the caliper used by the teams of the premier class is the GP4. Made entirely of aluminum and with an efficient design, this 4-piston caliper has always offered high-level performances. The most important innovation of the GP4 was the cooling fins that significantly improve the thermal efficiency of the entire braking system.
In addition, the optimized hydraulics combined with the amplification guarantees a more precise and constant response to the brake lever, eliminating the spongy effect. In essence, the GP4 in these four years of use has been a symbol of a significant step forward in terms of braking power, modulation and durability.
With this new racing caliper, Brembo continues its tradition of providing MotoGP riders with the confidence and control needed to give their all on every circuit of the calendar.
