Aluminium is a strategic raw material for Brembo’s calipers, the most prominent technology – together with the disc – of the company’s high-performance braking systems. Producing aluminium is energy intensive and Brembo is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

The use of renewable energy significantly lowers the emissions associated with aluminium smelting, so Brembo has signed an agreement with Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the world’s biggest ‘premium aluminium’ producer, to source its CelestiAL solar aluminium, produced using solar power.

For the Group, this new agreement is another significant step forward in responsible procurement. Beatrice Sarti, Brembo’s Chief Purchasing Officer, said: "This allows us to reduce emissions by nearly 50% for the same volume of aluminium, further reinforcing our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility".

Looking Forward

This expanded partnership with EGA is just one example of Brembo’s continued efforts to integrate sustainable practices across its operations. The company is committed to reducing its carbon footprint while continuing to deliver the highest-quality products to its customers.
