Brembo, a global leader in mobility innovation, introduces Greenance Plus Kit, the new aftermarket disc and pad set. Developed from technologies refined by Brembo, it is the result of years of research into brake particulate emissions, wear reduction and braking performance.
As the automotive industry prepares for the introduction of Euro 7 brake emission requirements, Greenance Plus Kit confirms Brembo's long-standing commitment to anticipating regulatory developments and evolving market needs.
Greenance Plus Kit has been developed by combining enhanced durability, reduced brake particulate emissions and Brembo's renowned braking performance in a single solution. According to a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study verified by an independent third-party organization, the solution can reduce environmental impact by up to 85%, compared with an equivalent uncoated cast-iron disc.
"The introduction of Euro 7 represents an important milestone for the automotive industry, but for Brembo it confirms a path we embarked on years ago," said Roberto Caravati, Aftermarket GBU Chief Operating Officer of Brembo. “Through continuous investments in research, testing capabilities and innovative technologies, we have anticipated the industry's evolution by developing solutions that reduce brake particulate emissions while preserving the performance, safety and driving experience expected from Brembo products. Four years after pioneering a new approach in the aftermarket with the Greenance Kit, Greenance Plus Kit represents its natural evolution, bringing further advancements in durability and the reduction of brake particulate emissions, while preserving the safety and performance expected from Brembo products."
Developed from Brembo's extensive expertise in braking systems, Greenance Plus Kit combines a specially engineered disc and pad package. Its versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of vehicle applications, from internal combustion engine vehicles to new energy vehicles, from passenger cars to light commercial vehicles.
The technology behind Greenance Plus is based on the application of a nickel-free dual-layer coating (patent pending) through Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) technology. Thanks to a data-driven approach and years of development, Brembo has continuously expanded its expertise in the study of brake particulate emissions while integrating advanced manufacturing processes into its plants.
The coating, working in synergy with specifically engineered brake pads, significantly increases disc durability without compromising Brembo's renowned braking performance. This integrated disc-and-pad solution is the key to achieving the product's wear and emission reduction benefits. The technology can be applied to different disc architectures, including integral, dual cast, lightweight and floating discs.
When combined with dedicated pads, Greenance Plus Kit delivers up to 80% lower surface wear compared with an equivalent uncoated cast-iron disc, based on Brembo dyno bench test results. In addition, the system reduces brake dust emissions during braking by up to 90% compared with an equivalent uncoated cast iron disc, according to Brembo dyno bench tests carried out in accordance with the WLTP-Brake Cycle (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure).
To support the development of new braking technologies, Brembo continuously invests in research, testing and advanced technological infrastructure, including one of the most advanced test benches dedicated to the study and measurement of brake particulate emissions.
The disc also features Brembo’s Easy Check marking with the Brembo logo: when the symbol disappears from the braking surface, the disc has reached its wear limit and must be replaced.
Greenance Plus Kit expands Brembo's Beyond family, the product line created to address the evolving challenges of mobility through innovative braking solutions. Four years after introducing the Greenance Kit, Brembo is broadening the Beyond range with Greenance Plus Kit. While both solutions are designed to reduce environmental impact and extend component life, Greenance Plus Kit delivers an enhanced level of wear reduction and brake dust emission control through its advanced disc-and-pad technology.
The Beyond range already includes the Greenance Kit and the EV Kit, each developed to meet specific market and vehicle needs.
